Resources for German teachers
Modified on Thu, 14 Mar at 9:00 AM
The Comprehensible Classroom primarily publishes Spanish, French, and Latin curricula. We do not currently have plans to publish a German version of our program.
Here are a list of resources that we recommend to German teachers seeking to implement Communicative Comprehension-based Language Teaching (CCLT) or Acquisition Driven Instruction (ADI):
- Ben Fisher-Rodríguez is a German teacher, past PNCFL Language Teacher of the Year, and Acquisition Enthusiast. Connect with him on X (Twitter)!
- Join the Facebook group for German teachers interested in implementing Acquisition Driven Instruction.
- Consider the Sabine und Michael curriculum, which is dated but provides a starting point for implementation.
- Find novels for German language learners distributed by Command Performance Language Institute.
- Consider the Stepping Stones curriculum for German.
- Browse German curricula from Voces
- Look for novels written by Minnesota teacher Julie Young
- Get inspiration from the German resource hub
- Connect with Eric Richards, past CSCTFL Language Teacher of the Year, for resources and training
- Find stories and more on the German the Natural Way channels on YouTube, here and here.
- Explore Story Listening through training and YouTube stories from Kathrin Shectman
