How Do I Navigate My Curriculum Materials?
Modified on Sat, 21 Jun at 7:16 PM
All curriculum from The Comprehensible Classroom—including Somos, Nous sommes, Sumus, and Vamos—is delivered digitally via Google Drive to licensed users. While the materials live in Google Drive by default, you are welcome to download files to your hard drive or upload them to a different platform, such as Microsoft OneDrive.
Below is a guide to understanding and organizing the digital curriculum materials once your license is activated.
Start Here: Curriculum Folder Structure
Each curriculum license includes a main Drive folder that contains:
- An Administrative / Start Here folder
- Individual folders for each unit
Inside the Start Here folder, you’ll find:
- Editable documents like a syllabus template
- Professional learning materials to help you get started with acquisition-based instruction
- General course resources
What’s Inside Each Unit Folder?
Every Unit Resource Folder follows the same, predictable structure and includes five core files:
1. Teacher Guide (01 Teacher Guide or 01 Lesson Plans)
Functions like the teacher edition of a textbook and includes:
- Unit-at-a-glance overview
- Daily lesson overviews and detailed lesson plans
- References to slideshow slides and student pages
- Instructions for each activity and optional links to free PD resources
- For Somos 1 and 2 only: Student Activity Pages, Assessments, and Answer Keys are also included here
Tip: We recommend printing and reviewing the Teacher Guide before starting each unit.
2. Slideshow File (02 Slideshow)
- Editable Google Slides presentation
- Aligned with daily plans in the Teacher Guide
- Used for in-class instruction
Tip: Make a copy to your own Drive so you can customize it as needed.
3. Student Activity Pages / Printables PDF (03 Student Activity Pages)
- Includes worksheets and assessments for the unit
- For Nous sommes, Sumus, and Vamos, answer keys are located here
- For Somos, answer keys are only in the Teacher Guide
Need print support? You can print before each unit, daily, or order pre-printed student workbooks here (workbooks exclude song lyrics and assessments).
4. Unit Overview (04 Unit Overview)
- Editable planning document
- Includes daily Can-Do Statements and standards alignments
- Useful for lesson plan submissions and course approvals
5. Bullet Planner (05 Bullet Planner)
- Editable tool to help you plan and pace your unit lessons
- Includes built-in usage instructions
Additional Resources
Some units include bonus files, such as:
- Paperless activities
- Game templates
- Printable posters
These files always appear after the five core files and are referenced by name in the Teacher Guide.
Need Help?
If you're ever unsure how to use a file:
- Open the Teacher Guide or Lesson Plans document
- Use the Search function (Ctrl/Cmd + F) to find the file name
- Read the instructions included for that activity
