Is there research or data about the efficacy of The Somos Curriculum?

While we don't have any specific data for results of The Somos Curriculum (running a study that would produce such data would not only be incredibly costly, but would take years to gather data), we CAN offer confirmation of the efficacy of using an implicit model for instruction (which is what Somos provides) over an explicit model for instruction.
The Somos Curriculum aligns very well with ACTFL's World Readiness Standards and it embodies ACTFL's Guiding Principles. In each unit, there is a Unit Overview document that outlines which World Readiness Standards are being addressed on a given day. You can view how Somos meets standards from many different state, national, and international organizations here.
Additionally, here is one website that has compiled many of the studies regarding the efficacy of courses that employ Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS) and its adaptations, which are the core of the Somos Curriculum.
