The Comprehensible Classroom
There are summative assessments included in almost all SOMOS units (Level 1, Unit 1 does not have any assessments). There are reading, writing, listening, and very occasionally speaking assessments. All productive assessments are evaluated against a Performance Descriptors aligned rubric, and students in Level 1 are expected to perform at Novice Mid presentational speaking and writing in the classroom context. Interpretive assessments are evaluated against a rubric that draws from traditional ELA reading rubrics. Authentic resources are a core component of SOMOS, but they are only used in interpretive activities and formative assessments; not in interpretive assessments. 

There is not currently a SOMOS assessment available that is aligned with ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines.
